The Cleveland Browns announced on Sunday they have released nine players to trim their roster to 80 players, five over the limit of 75 teams much reach by Monday's deadline.
The nine players cut by the Browns on Sunday included offensive linemen Jake Anderson and Matt Cleveland, defensive back Emanuel Davis, linebacker JoJo Dickson, punter Spencer Lanning, receivers Carlton Mitchell, Jermaine Saffold, Owen Spencer and Bert Reed.
Mitchell was a sixth-round pick in 2010.
