The Cleveland Browns signed veteran tight end Alex Smith to a one-year deal, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Smith played for the Philadelphia Eagles last season.
He caught just three passes for 25 yards.
A former Tampa Bay Buccaneers third-round draft pick, Smith has caught 129 career passes for 1,252 yards and 11 touchdowns.
He was cut by the New England Patriots last year after being acquired via a trade.
