The Cleveland Browns have signed defensive end Brian Sanford.

Sanford replaces wide receiver Davone Bess, who's been placed on the non-football illness list due to personal issues involving his family.

Sanford played the first three seasons of his NFL career with the Browns.

He had seven tackles this season for the Oakland Raiders.
