Browns sign first-round pick Mingo

On Saturday, NFP reported that Barkevious Mingo and the Cleveland Browns were working to have the first-round pick in camp by the time the full squad was assembled on Wednesday.

It turns out that Browns and Mingo beat that deadline considerably, as the Browns announced Sunday morning that a deal had been signed.

The contract was actually agreed upon around 2:20 a.m. CDT this morning.

"Keke just wanted ot bne in camp today at 7 a.m., so we got the contract done," agent Jeffrey Guerrerio told NFP in a text message. "He is ready to go to work."

According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Mingo will receive $16 million over four years with an option for a fifth season. Per the newspaper, the contract does contain offset language, but Mingo will receive his signing bonus of around $10 million in the first year of the deal.

Mingo, the No. 6 overall pick in the draft, reaches a deal that comes just hours after No. 3 overall pick Dion Jordan and No. 4 overall choice Lane Johnson signed contracts with the Dolphins and Eagles, respectively, on Saturday.
