Browns signed Vinston Painter

The Cleveland Browns have signed offensive lineman Vinston Painter to the active roster off the Denver Broncos' practice squad.

The Browns waived/failed physical offensive lineman Caylin Hauptmann.

Painter is 6-4, 310 pounds and officially in his first NFL season out of Virginia Tech. Originally drafted by Denver in the sixth round in 2013, Painter spent most of his rookie season on the Broncos' practice squad.

He elevated to the active roster for the final two postseason games and was inactive. He appeared as a reserve in all four of the Broncos preseason games this year.
