Browns to start Brian Hoyer against Vikings

The Cleveland Browns will start quarterback Brian Hoyer against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday with starter Brandon Weeden sidelined with a thumb injury.

Hoyer was informed of the decision this morning by coach Rob Chudzinski.

Hoyer gets the call ahead of former Washington Redskins and Oakland Raiders starter Jason Campbell.

Hoyer is a former Michigan State starter who has also played for the New England Patriots, Arizona Cardinals and Buffalo Bills.
