Team not saying how they will remember life of man who moved original Browns franchise. Terry McCormick
The Cleveland Browns will honor the original franchise's former owner Art Modell before Sunday's game with Philadelphia with an appropriate honor, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Modell, who died Thursday at age 87, was a villain in Cleveland after he moved the original incarnation of the Browns to Baltimore, where the franchise became known as the Ravens. He purchased the Browns in 1961, and when he moved the club, the team's colors and history stayed behind in Cleveland where the new Browns were formed in 1999.
The Browns would not say exactly what they planned to do to honor Modell on Sunday, whether it would be a moment of silence or some other action.
