The latest twist in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' continuing battles with demoted quarterback Josh Freeman has unfolded.
Freeman was fined twice in the past month for conduct detrimental to the team, according to Sports Illustrated.
Freeman missed a team meeting and did an unauthorized interview with ESPN. Freeman is appealing.
The Buccaneers are likely trying to build a case to suspend Freeman without pay then trade him and not have to pay all of his salary.
The NFL Players Association is looking into a leak of Freeman's status in the NFL substance-abuse program with coach Greg Schiano saying he didn't leak it.
The Buccaneers and Freeman definitely need to get a divorce.
