The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed rookie offensive guard Patrick Omameh off the San Francisco 49ers practice squad, occupying the roster spot previously held by quarterback Josh Freeman.

The 6-foot-4, 303-pounder played at Michigan where he started 42 games and went undrafted last spring.

He was signed to the 49ers' practice squad after the final major roster cutdown.
