Buccaneers sign Peyton Hillis

Veteran running back Peyton Hillis has a new NFL employer.

He signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers today, agreeing to a one-year contract following a tryout.

Hillis, 27, played for the Kansas City Chiefs last season.

While Hillis has a bulldozing, powerful running style, he hasn't been able to recapture his form from 2010 when he was with the Cleveland Browns.

During that season, the former Arkansas standout rushed for 1,177 yards and 10 touchdowns with 61 receptions for 477 yards and two touchdowns.

The Buccaneers probably envision Hillis as a change of pace behind all-purpose starter Doug Martin.
