RG-3, Redskins don't help sell enough tickets Brad Biggs
The Fox affiliate in Tampa will show the New Orleans-Green Bay game late Sunday afternoon.
That is because, once again, a Tampa Bay Buccaneers game has been blacked out locally because the club has failed to meet its minimum threshold for ticket sales. The Bucs are hosting Robert Griffin III and the Washington Redskins on Sunday.
According to Roy Cummings of the Tampa Tribune, it is the second home game to be blacked out this season and now 15 of the last 17 at Raymond James Stadium have been blacked out.
The Bucs went to great lengths to boost ticket sales this offseason, lowering ticket prices, offering flexible payment plans and marketing. The team only has to sell 85 percent of tickets to have the blackout lifted.
Looks like the Bucs will have to begin winning before they will show up.
