Tampa Bay became the fifth team to dismiss its head coach and first to fire its general manager when both coach Greg Schiano and GM Mark Dominik were let go on Monday.
Tampa Bay struggled from the start of the season, losing its first eight games. While the Buccaneers won four out of the next five, they finished the season with three straight losses in lopsided fashion. The view all along was that Schiano had lost the team. In addition, high-profile player acquisitions such as Vincent Jackson, Darrelle Revis and Carl Nicks have not worked out, leading to Dominik’s dismissal.
Chris Ballard of Kansas City and former Tampa Bay exec Jerry Angelo are expected to get interest from the Bucs for the general manager post.
