The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are working to piece together a coaching staff for Greg Schiano and not every move is going their way.

Dan Quinn, the defensive coordinator at the University of Florida, has turned down a chance to hold the same position on Schiano’s staff, according to the Gainesville Sun. Quinn interviewed for the job but elected to remain with Will Muschamp at Florida where he has all but one defensive starter returning for this coming fall.

Quinn has a history in the NFL as a defensive line coach for several teams. What the Bucs are experiencing isn’t surprising. When you are the last team to select a head coach – or among the last teams – and you completely clean house, it’s not easy to fill every spot. The pool of candidates has been reduced as other teams with new head coaches have filled out their staffs.

That is why ultimately Schiano will probably fill his staff with a good number of assistants with ties to him at Rutgers or elsewhere in the college game.

So Rutgers is leaving the Big East for the NFC South? Wonder how that's going to work out.

i've said it before, and i'll say it again. treat coaches the way they do down in tampa, and NO ONE is going to want to take a job there.
