Bucco Bruce will be back again this season.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced the team will wear their “Creamsicle” throwback jerseys for the Sept. 29 game vs. the Arizona Cardinals at Raymond James Stadium.
That means the winking pirate, known as Bucco Bruce, will be on the side of the helmets. It marks the fifth consecutive season the club will use its former uniform design for a game, according to the Tampa Tribune.
The Bucs wore the uniforms from their inception in 1976 through the 1996 season before changing to the pewter and red design and ditching Bucco Bruce. For what it’s worth, Tampa Bay is 1-3 in throwback games the past four years.
