Tiki Barber will not be reuniting with his twin brother Ronde on an NFL field this season, not as teammates anyway.
Maybe they’ll face one another in a game like they have before, but Ira Kaufman of the Tampa Tribune tweets that rumors the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will pursue Barber, who has been retired for the last four years, are just that.
“If Tiki returns to the NFL, it won't be with Ronde in Tampa Bay,” Kaufman tweets.
We previously wrote that Barber made no sense for the Bucs, who have a young running back they want to hitch their offense to in LeGarrette Blount. What makes far more sense is pursuing former first-round draft pick Cadillac Williams, who is a free agent. Williams showed he can be an effective third-down back last season and he’s a good mentor for Blount to have around.
