Plaxico Burress is on the hook for more than $59,000 in back taxes to the state of New York, the New York Post reported, citing TMZ.
Burress is still looking for a new team after playing last season for the New York Jets. Now he has a bigger worry, how to pay back $59,241 for earnings made in 2007 while he was with the Giants. Burress earned a base salary of $3.295 million that year in helping the Giants win the Super Bowl.
Burress, who then spent 20 months in prison on a weapons charge, spent last year with the Jets, but has been unable to find a team for 2012 thus far.
