Reggie Bush remains optimistic that he can play this Sunday for the Detroit Lions against the Washington Redskins.

However, team doctors still have not cleared him to return from the knee injury he suffered against Arizona last Sunday.

"I feel a lot better than I thought I was going to be feeling at this point in time," Bush said during his weekly interview on WXYT-FM (97.1) in an interview picked up by the Detroit Free Press. "My knee feels pretty good. It's a day-to-day thing right now. Thankfully, I avoided anything serious that might have required surgery or being out for a long period of time."
