49ers, Jaguars, Buccaneers among the teams displaying interest Aaron Wilson
It isn't every day that an NFL head coach visits the Florida A&M University campus.
According to a source with knowledge of the situation, San Francisco 49ers coach Mike Singletary as well as a sizable contingent of 49ers coaches and scouts observed elusive kick returner LeRoy Vann during his Pro Day workout today at FAMU in Tallahassee, Fla.
Besides the 49ers' presence on the heels of Vann's private workout Monday with a Jacksonville Jaguars special-teams coach, Vann's campus workout was also observed by the following NFL teams: the Oakland Raiders, New Orleans Saints, Tennessee Titans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jaguars, Pittsburgh Steelers, Indianapolis Colts, Minnesota Vikings, New York Giants, Chicago Bears, Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots.
On a soggy, rough surface, Vann was recorded in the 40-yard dash in the 4.5 range by several NFL scouts.
Vann has run in the 4.4 range previously, but we're told NFL teams weren't concerned about the time due to the conditions.
The 5-foot-8, 185-pounder bench pressed 225 pounds 16 times, had an unofficial 10-4 broad jump and a 35-inch vertical leap.
NFL teams are evaluating Vann as a cornerback, slot receiver and as a return specialist.
He's set to visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on April 8.
On Monday, Jaguars assistant special teams coach worked Nate Koczor worked out Vann.
Vann owns the NCAA career record with 11 returns for touchdowns, returning eight punts and three kickoffs for scores.
Vann returned a punt 81 yards for a touchdown during the HBCU Bowl game.

You're welcome! ; )
I saw elsewhere that the Bucs were interested in Vann a while back.Seems a bit odd to me as returner is a fairly solid spot with the team now, after so many years of futility. Are they worried about Clifton Smith's concussions??
