Calvin Johnson has played through a lingering knee injury all season.
So it's no surprise that Johnson isn't present for Thursday's practice, given the Lions have nothing to play for in the final week of the regular season. After losing to the Giants last week, the Lions were eliminated from playoff contention.
Johnson is the NFL's premier receiver but hasn't been able to showcase that in the last few weeks. Blame it on his quarterback, Matthew Stafford, or his coach, Jim Schwartz. But with the season on the line, someone needed to make sure Johnson got the ball plenty of times.
It does appear Johnson could be a game-time decision this Sunday.
