Detroit close to full strength for wild-card showdown Brad Biggs
The Detroit Lions were not at full strength when they ventured into the Superdome last month.
The Saints handled the Lions 31-17 in December and the rematch is Saturday and Detroit is healing up with wide receiver Calvin Johnson back at practice today. Johnson was sidelined earlier this week with an Achilles tendon issue.
Johnson had a huge game last Sunday at Green Bay even though he had missed most of practice in the week leading up to that game. He caught 11 passes for 244 yards and a touchdown against the Packers, and surely the Lions will be looking to make him the centerpiece in New Orleans.
Also, safety Louis Delmas is back at practice. He’s missed five consecutive games with a knew injury. The Lions will be full strength, or close to it and they’ll need to be for a chance to upset the high-powered Saints.
