Cam Newton involved in two-car accident

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton was injured in an accident involving two automobiles in Charlotte, N.C., according to The Charlotte Observer.

Newton's truck reportedly hit a car that possibly pulled out in front of him before turning over. Newton was placed onto a stretcher and taken by an ambulance to a nearby hospital. The truck overturned on a bridge that is located near Bank of America Stadium.

TMZ is reporting that Newton, in a lot of pain, tried to stand up at the scene of the accident but was unable to. WBTV in Charlotte has reported that Newton did not sustain any serious injuries and was only transported to a hospital for precautionary reasons.

The Charlotte Observer tweeted out a photo of Newton somewhat smiling while being tended to by a medic.

It appears Newton will be OK after what seemed to be a fairly serious car accident. He'll certainly be sore Wednesday, but fortunate to escape any kind of serious injuries.
