Now, Cam Newton will have plenty of rea$ons to drape that Gatorade towel over his head on the sideline.
The Carolina Panthers quarterback has reached an agreement with the sports-drink company on a sponsorship deal, according to Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer. The length and terms of the multi-year contract were not made public.
But as Person notes, Newton was often seen with a Gatorade towel on the sidelines during his highly productive rookie season.
“I have used Gatorade since I started playing football and Gatorade products have been an important part of my training and competition regimen for as long as I can remember,” Newton said in a release.
Newton already is a pitch man for Under Armour and GMC, proving that there is money off-the-field for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2011 draft.
