Carson Palmer may have found a home to end his NFL career in.

According to The Arizona Republic, the Cardinals and Palmer have begun negotiations for a new contract. After being traded to the Cardinals by the Raiders, Palmer threw for 4,274 yards and 24 touchdowns in 2013. He sustained a nerve injury his shoulder in Week 1 but was able to return last Sunday.

Palmer, 34, spent the first eight seasons of his career with the Bengals after being drafted first overall in 2003. However, his relationship with Cincinnati soured and he asked for a trade following the 2010 season. The Bengals initially declined and Palmer didn't report to the team. Halfway through the 2011 season, the Bengals ended up trading Palmer to the Raiders.

The Cardinals are apparently pleased with what Palmer has been able to do for them in nearly a year and a half.

"I won't get into specific points of the negotiations but we've had some dialogue with Dave Dunn," Cardinals general manager Steve Keim told The Arizona Republic. "(Palmer) has done a great job for us."

In his 12-year career, Palmer has completed 2,982-of-4,763 passes for 34,293 yards, 217 touchdowns and 152 interceptions. He played college football at USC and won the Heisman Trophy in 2002.
