The Arizona Cardinals became the second NFC West team to kick the tires on a former wide receiver in the division.
Donnie Avery worked out for the Cardinals, who have lost two of their top three wide receivers over the last two offseasons with Anquan Boldin and Steve Breaston exiting. Early Doucet stepped up in Arizona’s Week 1 win and they might just be doing their homework. The team also worked out Jaymar Johnson, another veteran receiver.
Avery, who was one of the final cuts by the Rams, worked out for the San Francisco 49ers last week. He missed the entire 2010 season after suffering a torn ACL in preseason.
