The Arizona Cardinals have come up with a veteran quarterback to pair with Matt Leinart in case the former first-round draft pick doesn’t pan out.
Derek Anderson will sign with the Cardinals, according to Darren Urban, the writer for the team’s Web site. Anderson is a skilled deep ball passer, so that ought to make Larry Fitzgerald happy. But after one strong season in Cleveland, he fizzled out quickly.
The move increases speculation that the Seattle Seahawks will sign restricted free agent Charlie Whitehurst to an offer sheet. Whitehurst visited both NFC West teams and it is expected that the San Diego Chargers will not match an offer sheet. The Seahawks, however, still lack a third-round draft pick to fork over to the Bolts in exchange for signing away Whitehurst.
Whether or not Anderson can be a productive starter for the Cardinals remains to be seen. He certainly was in need of a fresh start elsewhere. Now, he needs to do something with it.

It's nice to know this information! Looking forward to his wonderful play.
Man he made out like a bandit. Boy the Bears are not smart w/the money & the signings but they are nice. Especially if your a player for them I guess. Its probably two seasons too late, but this was the right move.

So, San Diego has to move picks around? Perhaps Mike can diagnose some trade possiblities that would emerge around lining out the Anderson deal. Another player or picks will also be moved?
