Offensive line issues were not the only problems exposed for the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday night in the loss at St. Louis.
Running back issues plague the club now also as coach Ken Whisenhunt announced today that Ryan Williams will miss the remainder of the season with a shoulder injury.
Williams, a second-round pick in 2011, missed his entire rookie season with a torn Achilles tendon. Now, he goes down after five games and Beanie Wells and LaRod Stephens-Howling have also been dealing with injuries.
Williams had rushed for 164 yards on 58 carries with no touchdowns. The Virginia Tech product will need to heal up following surgery and make a run at it again next season. Wells has been battling a turf toe issue and Stephens-Howling has presumably been dealing with a concussion as he has had a “head” injury. Arizona also has William Powell and Alfonso Smith in the backfield.
