The Arizona Cardinals have signed their first-round draft pick, ashington State All-American safety Deone Bucannon, to a four-year contract with the standard fifth year club option.
Bucannon ran the 40-yard dash in 4.49 seconds at the NFL scouting combine, bench pressed 225 pounds 19 times and had a 10-6 broad jump and 36.5-inch vertical leap.
Bucannon was a finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award last season and a second-team All-Pac-12 selection.
He led the Pac-12 with 109 tackles last season, intercepted five passes and forced three fumbles. He was a four-year starter and a three-time captain.
For his career, Bucannon has 379 tackles and 14 interceptions.
