Outside of the Chicago Bears landing Pro Bowl wide receiver Brandon Marshall in exchange for two third-round picks (which I still can’t seem to comprehend), the Tampa Bay Buccaneers made perhaps the biggest move of the first day of the 2012 free agent period.
And the team is looking to keep its foot on the gas as we enter Day 2, because the top free agent guard prospect just got to town.
Per a tweet from Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, free agent guard and former New Orleans Saint Carl Nicks has arrived in Tampa.
The Buccaneers entered the free agent period with approximately $44 million in cap space, so they have more than enough ammo to upgrade their roster with solid NFL talent. Vincent Jackson has already been locked-up for $55 million.
Could Nicks be next?
