Perhaps Eagles defensive lineman Cedric Thornton is torturing himself.
Speaking to CSNPhilly.com, Thornton admitted that he still watches the playoff loss to the Saints from this past season, a 26-24 decision in the Wild Card round. It's a game that still gets at Thornton because, in his mind, the defensive line came out flat and could've played much better.
“I still watch the game,” Thornton said. “It wasn’t that they ran all on us. We were definitely in position to make plays. It was just that finishing thing. I promise you, if we had that game back 10 times we would win nine out of 10.”
That's a bold statement, considering in the NFL playoffs, you get one chance. I'm sure Saints players and fans are collectively thinking, "Yeah, but we won the one that mattered," in response.
Thornton and the Eagles front seven should be improved this year, which could lead to a potential NFC East repeat performance.
