San Diego Chargers exclusive rights linebacker Antwan Applewhite signed his one-year, $470,000 qualifying offer, the team announced.
Applewhite spent last season on injured reserve with a hamstring injury suffered during the season opener against the Oakland Raiders.
Now, the Chargers have five unsigned restricted free agents: wide receivers Vincent Jackson and Malcom Floyd, offensive tackle Marcus McNeill, linebacker Shawne Meeriman and defensive end Travis Johnson.
Merriman and Johnson haven't signed, but signed injury waivers and are taking part in the offseason conditioning program.
