Chargers' Bisaccia heads to Auburn

The San Diego Chargers have lost special teams coach Rich Bisaccia, who has taken a similar position at Auburn University on new coach Gus Malzah's staff, says the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Bisaccia is well regarded around the NFL as a special teams coach and was even mentioned in a place or two a couple of years ago as a potential darkhorse candidate for a head coaching job in the league.

Bisaccia joined the Chargers in 2010, helping to turn what had been a liability in previous years into a team strength. When a head coach is fired, as was the case for Norv Turner in San Diego, assistant coaches on that coach's staff are often left scrambling for jobs. Bisaccia, who will also coach running backs for the Tigers, found a life raft at Auburn.
