The San Diego Chargers' contract disputes with wide receiver Vincent Jackson and offensive tackle Marcus McNeill could continue until well into the regular season.

According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, Jackson and McNeill don't plan to sign their restricted tenders on Monday.

So, the Chargers will reduce the offers to 110 percent of their 2009 base salaries and cost the players about $2.5 million apiece.

And the players are expected to sit out until after the 10th game of the season, which would mean they would only need six games to earn the season toward becoming unrestricted free agents.

The Chargers aren't inclined to do long-term deals with the labor strife surrounding the league.

So, the impasse continues with no signs of ending.
