The San Diego Chargers have hired Jim Jauch as their Southeast area scout.

He replaces Darrell Moody, who was recently hired by the Buffalo Bills.

Jauch, 44, is in his second stint with the Chargers, serving as a regional scout in the Midwest from 1992 to 2003.

He was most recently the associate director of college and pro Scouting for the Cleveland Browns. Jauch joined the Browns in 2004 and served four seasons as a college scout before being elevated to associate director of pro Personnel in 2008 and his most recent role a year later.

A native of Iowa City, Jauch was a defensive back at the University of North Carolina before a four-year stint in the Canadian Football League that included stops in Calgary, Edmonton and Hamilton.
