Former Cardinals coach will now try to rejuvenate Rivers, San Diego offense. Terry McCormick
The San Diego Chargers have hired former Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt as their offensive coordinator for new head coach Mike McCoy, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Whisenhunt was unable to develop a quarterback in Arizona after Kurt Warner retired, as Kevin Kolb, John Skelton and Ryan Lindley did not pan out, resulting in his firing after the regular season.
But with a veteran quarterback in Philip Rivers, whose performance has slipped the past couple of seasons, Whisenhunt might be able to get him back on track, much the same way Warner did after Whisenhunt arrived in Arizona.
