Safety suffered groin injury in Sunday's game vs. Ravens. Terry McCormick
The San Diego Chargrers have placed veteran safety Atari Bigby on injured reserve after he suffered a groin injury in the first half of Sunday's overtime loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
Bigby, a seven-year pro, was second on the Chargers with 68 tackles this season.
To replace him on the roster, the Chargers re-signed linebacker Bront Bird, who was with the club in 2011, but was released in final cuts this summer.
