The San Diego Chargers have announced that kicker Nate Kaeding has been placed on injured reserve with a groin injury suffered in week four.
The club has signed receiver Denario Alexander to fill the roster spot.
Kaeding, a ninth-year pro, will be released by the Chargers as soon as he is deemed healthy enough, according to the team.
