The San Diego Chargers have agreed to a four-year contract with third-round rookie linebacker Donald Butler, the team announced.

Butler received a signing bonus of $808,500, according to a league source. The total base value of the deal is $2.598 million. That includes the standard base salaries of $320,000, $405,000, $490,000 and $575,000.

The 6-foot-1, 248-pound inside linebacker earned second-team All-Pac-10 honors as a senior at Washington.

He registered 91 tackles, one sack, forced three fumbles and intercepted two passes. Butler led all linebackers at the NFL Combine, where he bench pressed 225 pounds 35 times.

The Chargers also announced the previously reported four-year, $1.98 million deal for fifth-round nose guard Cam Thomas.

The 6-foot-4, 335-pounder from North Carolina recorded 23 tackles last season, blocked a kick and was credited with three quarterback pressures.

Thomas earned a Senior Bowl invitation following the season and sacked Oklahoma State quarterback Zac Robinson during the All-Star game.

The Chargers now have deals with five of their six draft picks three weeks before training camp stars.

First-round running back Ryan Mathews (Fresno State) is the remaining unsigned pick.
