The San Diego Chargers have signed former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback J.T. O'Sullivan to a one-year contract.
O'Sullivan will be formally signed Tuesday to work behind Philip Rivers and backup Billy Volek, who didn't practice today.
Heading into his eighth NFL season, O'Sullivan played in three games last season and completed 4 of 11 passes for 40 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions.
A former sixth-round draft choice of the New Orleans Saints in 2002, O’Sullivan has spent time in New Orleans (2002-04), Green Bay (2004), Minnesota (2005), New England (2006), Carolina (2006), Detroit (2007), San Francisco (2008) and Cincinnati.
His most playing time was in 2008 with the 49ers when he started eight of nine games and completed 128-of-220 passes for 1,678 yards while throwing eight touchdown passes and 11 interceptions.
O’Sullivan’s career totals include 17 games played andeight starts for 1,866 yards, nine touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He also has 145 career rushing yards.
