Chargers sign Willie Smith, cut Kenny Wiggins

The San Diego Chargers signed offensive tackle Willie Smith, cutting offensive tackle Kenny Wiggins.

Smith is a 6-foot-5, 310-pound tackle who has spent time with the Oakland Raiders and Washington Redskins. The former East Carolina player he appeared in nine games with the Raiders last season with seven starts. He appeared in four games, making three starts with the Redskins in 2011.

The Chargers signed offensive tackle Nick Becton to the practice squad after releasing him from the active roster on Saturday. He replaces guard Andrew Tiller, who has been released.
