Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel helped to keep a woman from harm, running to her house that was on fire and alerting her of the blaze.
According to KMBC Channel 9 in Kansas City, Cassel's wife first noticed smoke coming from a nearby house, Cassel ran to the home and began ringing the doorbell, pounding on the door and circling the house until a woman who lived there came outside unharmed.
The woman said she was unaware of the blaze until Cassel alerted her. Her husband was out of town at the time of the fire.
"I wasn't heroic at all," Cassel said. "I just ran up to the house and alerted them. The real heroes are the firefighters."
Nontheless, neighbors are hailing the Chiefs QB as a hero for his quick actions in the matter.
