Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Tamba Hali has been suspended for the team's Sept. 9 season opener, the club announced on Monday.
The exact nature of Hali's offense was not revealed, but the statement from the team and the NFL said it was for a violation of the NFL's substance abuse policy.
The Chiefs host the Atlanta Falcons in their season opener.
