Chiefs place Sanders Commings on IR

The Kansas City Chiefs announced that safety Sanders Commings has been placed on injured reserve for the 2014 season.

Commings broke his ankle earlier this preseason.

In addition to this roster move, the Chiefs announced 11 cuts as they begin trimming down the league-mandated 75 players.

Those players released are WR Deon Anthony, DL Jairus Campbell, DT Jermelle Cudjo, WR Weston Dressler, OG Otis Hudson, WR Jerrell Jackson, CB Brandon Jones, CB Vernon Kearney, S Jerron McMillan, TE Adam Schlitz, WR Darryl Surgent.

The Chiefs now stand at 78 players and will need to get down to 75 by Tuesday.
