Even though interim coach Romeo Crennel appears to be the frontrunner to become the Kansas City Chiefs head coach on a permanent basis, that hasn't stopped the team from looking around and talking to other potential hires.

The most interesting name to come up on the Chiefs interview list is Jack Del Rio, who was fired by the Jacksonville Jaguars late in the season. Del Rio will interview with the Chiefs today, according to KCTV-5 in Kansas City.

The station also said, citing a Kansas City Star report, that Green Bay offensive coordinator Joe Philbin had interviewed with the Chiefs as well.

The look at Del Rio is very curious, given that the Jaguars were mostly up and down during just under nine seasons in Jacksonville, as his 69-73 record attests. The Jags made just two postseason appearances in that time.
