The Kansas City Chiefs are the AFC West champions.
Completing the biggest turnaround in Chiefs history, Kansas City beat the Tennessee Titans and won six more games than they did last year.
It's the Chiefs' first 10-win season since 2005.
“You definitely have to dream it before you can make it true,’’ linebacker Derrick Johnson told the Kansas City Star following a 34-14 rout of the Titans at Arrowhead Stadium. “Things are coming to reality right now."
The San Diego Chargers' loss to the Cincinnati Bengals clinched the division title for Kansas City.
THe Chiefs had won only 10 games over the previous three seasons.
Quarterback Matt Cassel passed for 314 yards and three touchdowns.
“It’s a huge accomplishment,’’ he said. “It’s a huge turnaround for us after being 4-12 and going through they year we did last year. I know there was a ton of adversity and all of those things were difficult to handle at times. It’s remarkable to say the least."
If the Chiefs win next week over the Oakland Raiders, they will be the third seed in the AFC.
The Chiefs are 7-0 at Arrowhead this season, only the seventh time in franchise history they've won seven or more games at the venue.
Only the Chiefs, New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons are undefeated at home this season.
Against the Titans, running back Jamaal Charles set a career-high with two touchdown catches.
Charles has 1,380 rushing yards on the season, the seventh-highest seasonal total in team history.
And Cassel has 27 touchdowns and five interceptions.
He posted a 128.8 passer rating against Tennessee.
