DeSean Jackson has been on a whirlwind ride over the past week, with reports that the Eagles would trade him hitting the public.
But that seemed to change on Tuesday, when a Philadelphia Inquirer report stated that Jackson was telling teammates he was staying put. On Wednesday, speaking to reporters at the NFL owners meetings in Orlando, Fla., Eagles coach Chip Kelly didn't rule out the possibility of shipping Jackson elsewhere.
"We had a good conversation. We're always going to do what's best for the football team," Kelly said, via The Inquirer. "I think he knows where we are, and I know where he is. I feel very comfortable about it ... I like DeSean. DeSean did a really nice job for us. But we're always going to do what's best for the organization."
A day ago, Jackson seemed to quell the trade talk by posting a photo to his instagram account with a caption that makes it seem like the two sides are on good terms.
"Good to Talk to BIg Chip today !! Say or hear what ya want !! The Picture speaks for itself !! Winner…" he wrote.
Jackson is coming off the best season of his career. In 2013, he caught 82 passes for 1,332 yards and nine touchdowns. The reception and yardage totals were career highs, with the nine touchdowns tying a career-best set in 2009.
