Though Jets running back Chris Ivory was forced to leave Thursday's preseason game against the Colts with an injury to his ribs, he's not expected to miss much time moving forward.
Via NJ.com, coach Rex Ryan said that Ivory is expected to be OK. The bruising running back was injured after totaling 17 yards for seven carries during the Jets' 13-10 win over Indianapolis. On Friday morning, the New York Daily News' Manish Mehta reported that Ivory sustained bruised ribs during the game.
Ivory will likely see a decent amount of touches this year in a backfield that figures to rotate between him, Chris Johnson and Bilal Powell.
Ivory was traded to the Jets by New Orleans last year but dealt with injuries during the 2013 season. He was still able to play 15 games, starting six, and ended the season with 855 yards and three touchdowns.
