Nothing has changed when it comes to the Tennessee Titans and star running back Chris Johnson.
He doesn't have a new deal.
There are no talks toward a long-term contract extension.
He has no plans to show up at this point for offseason practices, and it's unclear when he might report.
The NFL Offensive Player of the Year and reigning rushing champion emphasized, though, in an interview with the Tennessean that there are no hard feelings on his part.
“I like my team, I’m not mad,’’ Johnson said. “I am not sure what is going to happen. I am just working out right now trying get stronger and faster, and just been focusing on my workouts. I’ve been trying not to pay attention to anything else, really.’’
Due a $550,000 base salary this season, Johnson declined to comment on if he'll hold out and said he didn't know when he'll report.
He said he'll definitely be ready for the season.
“I have had a great offseason," he said. "I didn’t change up anything from last year and you saw how I did,’’ Johnson said. “I wanted to keep everything the same. I will do better than last year."
