Tennessee Titans star running back Chris Johnson hasn't stopped targeting the elusive 2,500-yard rushing mark.
Last season, he only managed to gain 1,364 yards one year removed from his breakthrough 2,006-yard season.
“I have the same goal: 2,500,’’ Johnson told the Tennessean from the Pro Bowl. “I want to win more, but I still have the same goals. I want to go for 2,500. It is very realistic. I had a good season last year.
"I know a lot of people said I didn’t have a good year, but I did. When you put the stats up there, I had a good year. Some people say I had a bad year, but I set my standards so high people expect that.’’
Last season, Johnson finished fourth in the league in rushing as Arian Foster won the rushing championship with 1,616 yards.
Johnson made the Pro Bowl as an injury replacement for Maurice Jones-Drew.
This marks his third consecutive Pro Bowl season.
“I don’t think too many guys have done that,’’ Johnson said. “It is an accomplishment I can put up there, three years in a row and hopefully I can keep it going."
Is 2,500 yards realistic?
Probably not.
To achieve that mark, he would need to average exactly 156.25 rushing yards per contest.
