Jeff Fisher moved a step closer to completing his coaching staff as the St. Louis Rams will hire Chuck Cecil to coach the secondary.
Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Fisher has turned to a veteran coach he has worked with in the past. Cecil worked as a defensive coordinator a defensive backs coach under Fisher with the Tennessee Titans in the past.
Cecil was a hard hitter as a player and is considered a demanding coach with an aggressive flair that should mesh well with defensive coordinator Gregg Williams.
Cecil served as the defensive coordinator of the Titans in 2009 after Jim Schwartz had departed for Detroit. His unit excelled that season but after slipping in 2010, Cecil was let go and his departure coincided with Fisher leaving the franchise.
