Miami won't be going on spending spree in uncapped year Aaron Wilson
The Miami Dolphins aren't going to spend until it hurts in free agency, owner Stephen Ross announced.
Ross told the Miami Herald that the Dolphins have set an internal budget even though no salary cap exists.
"I don't think money buys victories," Ross said during a meeting wiht NFL owners at the Ritz-Carlton in Fort Lauderdale. "I think we have the right personnel to make the right decisions. And you do what you need to do. But you don't throw money at things just to buy victories. That doesn't do it. It's about your brains, not your pocketbook that does it."
Per the report, the Dolphins' total payroll of $126,855,921 was the second-highest in the NFL behind the New York Giants' $137,638,866.
Ross did indicate that ticket price increases will be announced this week.
